Happy Christmas to you all in Room 6. Thank you for working so hard all year. You really deserve a long holiday. Take care and travel safely if you are going away. Make sure you come back refreshed and ready to start in Year 3. You have been an awesome class and we have loved helping you on your school journey. We wish Bridie, Liam and kahu all the best in their new schools and are sad to say goodbye.

Fun in the sunshine

What a great week we have had both in our classroom and outside at the park and beach. Take a look at the photos and see how much fun it has been. Let's hope the sun keeps shining from now on. Do remember to slap on the sun block and wear your hat. We still have to be sun smart and protect our skin from the ultra violet rays.

Shadow Shapes

For inquiry in Room 6 this term we have been looking at ways to be sun smart. We waited for a sunny day and went outside to make shadow shapes. Some of us noticed that when the sun was high in the sky our shadows were very short. We also talked about what might happen when the sun was lower in the sky and thought it would be much longer. Is Room 6 correct? Why not try looking at your shadow at home at different times of the day to see what happens to it.
We had so much fun learning about how our shadows work and took some photos of the shapes we made with our shadows for you to see.

How much does it weigh?

We have been finding out about how much things weigh. We looked at home in our pantries and found foods that weigh more than 1 kilogram and less than 1 kilogram. We looked on the packets and boxes and found the weights in grams and kilograms.
Next we looked at two shopping bags that looked the same. We asked the questions:
Are they different or the same?
How do we know?
What can we do to find out?
When we lifted the bags we found out that one bag was heavy and contained some books.
We have been weighing different object in the classroom to make them balance with cubes. It has been fun trying to find out how many cubes it takes to balance things.

Term 4 in the sun

Welcome back to Term 4. It sounds like everyone has had a great holiday and feels ready to go into our summer term. Remember to bring in sun hats this term. We need to keep ourselves sun safe. So hats with wide brims and wearing sunscreen are a must.

Room 6 is happy to welcome back Grace Manson from her time in America and Emily Jones who has moved from England to live in New Zealand. It is lovely to have you both in our class.

Over the holidays Olivia took part in some dancing competitions. She did extremely well and brought in her trophies to show. Well done Olivia. We do have such a lot of talented children in Room 6.

Measurement- How long? How wide? How tall? How short?

Over the last few weeks we have been comparing the length of objects. We have used many different units for measuring. We have used fingers, blocks, rulers, metre sticks, string and tape measures. Using a ruler and metre stick we have made bugs and monsters. We had lots of fun designing and decorating them and they turned out great. Come in and see our metre monsters and centimeter bugs. Origami cats

Origami is the art of paper folding. As part of our art unit on mixed media we followed folding instructions and made a cats head. Next we placed the head on a sheet of paper and roughly drew the outline of its body. We used pastel crayons to create the effect of fur and coat markings and black felt pen to draw the whiskers and face. Come in to Room 6 and take a look at all our fantastic cats. No two cats look identical!

Now we have mastered this shape we plan to explore other folds.

Conservation week the beach clean up

Today Room 6 and Room 13 took advantage of the sunny morning and headed off to the beach to clean up the rubbish. We were amazed at how much rubbish we found down there. We filled three black bags! It is sad that people don't put the rubbish in the bins or take it home. We need to take care of our environment and keep New Zealand clean and green.
Please put rubbish in the bins.
Everyone enjoyed the extra play at the park at the end a reward for all the hard work.

This term in writing we have been writing innovations. We read Alexander and the terrible, horrible,no good,very bad day by Judith Viost. Then we changed the story to make it into our own terrible no good very bad day. We had a great time thinking up lots of clever and interesting things that could happen to us. We used lots of exciting words to make our stories come alive. Come into Room 6 and have a read of them. They will make you smile.

Room 6 is pleased to welcome a new member to our class. Finlay Clark has now joined us. Welcome to Muritai school and Room 6 Finlay. It is great getting to know you.
What a week! It's been snow, storms and no power! Everyone has been full of stories about how much fun it was in the snow and then in dark. Let's hope spring is on the way now.
At the end of last term we spent time making mazes. It was great working together and thinking about all the different ways we could design them. Then we had to give instructions using directions on how to get through. Take a look at our fantastic and amazing mazes.

Term 3 our first week

Welcome back Room 6. It was good to see you all on Monday and to here some of your holiday stories. We have had a fun time this week working in the library with Room 5. Everyone has been fantastic at getting used to the new space. Thank you for all the great work you have achieved this week. The new classrooms are looking wonderful and we are looking forward to getting back into them sometime next week.
This term we are going to be working on learning our tables and we will start next week with the 2 times tables. Remember to look at the maths games down the side, there are lots of times tables games. Have fun!

Maori language week/Te wiki o te reo Maori

This week has been Maori language week and we have been lucky in Room 6 as Kahu has been teaching us some words. On Monday he came to school with a great sign he had made saying " Te wiki o te reo Maori. He taught us how to say Keitetika which means " is that right". Kahu said "you say K. Then say te then say tika. He also read a book to us called Keite pehea koe? "How do you feel?" Thanks Kahu for helping us with how to pronounce different words and letters. We love saying the days of the week and counting in Room 6. We are now busy learning how to say some different colours.

Matariki

On Thursday Kahu's mum Arini came into school to talk to us about Maori New Year which is called Matariki. She told us about how during late May and June a group of seven stars appear in the winter night sky. These stars are called the seven sisters. Matariki is the name for the biggest star. She is the eldest sister and guides her younger sisters to their places in the sky. We learnt how Matariki is a time to make plans for the future, forget problems of the past and enjoy being with family. We watched Kahu and Pania doing a performance at Te Papa. We enjoyed sharing all the special things she brought in to show us.

Mango Tango dance

We have been having so much fun working with Mrs Hooke on Thursdays in performing arts. We have learned the dance The Mango Tango and we performed it to the whole school on Friday. We moved and grooved to the music. We twist and turned and made lots of great shapes. Take a look at all our fantastic moves.

Eating time!

On Tuesday we made clocks out of food. We used marshmallows, m&m's for the numbers and for 12 we used a chocolate egg. For the hands we used carrot sticks and licorice. We made our clocks on paper plates. After we had made them we made different times. Miss Roberts called out a time like half past four and then we would make it. In the end we ate our whole clock! It was great fun and now we are even better at telling the time. It really was dinner time! Yum Yum.

What time is it Mr Wolf?

Over the last 5 weeks we have been learning how to tell the time. We have used our clocks to make o'clock and half past times. We are also learning how to tell the time on a digital clock. Lots of counting in 5's around the clock has helped us. Maybe you could practice at home telling the time. Find out what time you get up and go to bed. What time you have breakfast and eat lunch. Look at all the clocks around and see if you can read them. A good game is to play What's the time Mr Wolf showing the time on a clock.

Arguments-should we have a lion in the library?

In Room 6 we have been having lots of arguments! We have been trying to persuade others of our opinion on things. We have argued for and against having a lion in the library!
Here are some of our arguments.
Olivia said " Can you imagine having a lion in the library? Firstly the lion might scratch the books and eat them! Secondly the lion might hurt the children and break the shelves! Thirdly the lion might wreck the couches and rip the pages out of books."
Leon thought the opposite. He said "we should have a lion in the library. The first reason is it could help Sue put the books away. The second reason is it could be a very comfy back rest for the children. The third reason is it could help all the children reach the books on the shelves."

The science of sound

We have been busy in Room 6 finding out about sound. We have had lots of fun playing with water flutes,paper cup telephones,musical instruments,stethoscopes and box guitars. We made lots of sounds with our voices and felt our voice box vibrate. It was funny to feel our fingers tingle with the vibrations. When we whispered messages down the paper cup phones we could hear them more clearly. When we filled up the water flutes with different levels of water we could make different notes.

Room 6 have magicians!

Today Dan and Tai marvelled us all with their magic tricks. They made bags appear and balls disappear! We all watched in amazement as Dan told us he was going to make the red ball disappear and land in his pocket. How clever we are in room 6.

Science week in room 6

This week we have had lots of fun being scientists. On Tuesday we watched Mr Ray and Mr Dobson set off the water rocket on the field. Then we had a go at making oobleck which went so runny and squishy if we held it for too long. It was amazing to see how it changed.The next day it went rock hard and now looks like chalk. We also set up an experiment in the classroom. We put an egg into vinegar and watched it change over the week. The egg got bigger and the shell went very soft and came off the egg. When we felt it it felt really soft and it looked see through. We could even see the yolk inside! We found that it was bouncy but when Miss Roberts tried to bounce it she dropped it from too high and SPLAT the egg broke!!!!!

What Can You Make With a Marshmallow?

Look at all the different 3D shapes we made with toothpicks and marshmallows. We explored the number of faces, sides and corners in cuboids, cubes and pyramids. It was great fun and we even tried joining different shapes together. We found a pyramid with a square base fitted perfectly on top of a cube to make a house. Try this at home!

Grandparents day

On Monday April 4th we had a wonderful time sharing our school and classroom with our grandparents and grandfriends. We loved singing to them in the hall and reading our special grandparent stories. It was so lovely to have them come in and meet our teachers too. Thank you to all of the grandparents and grandfriends who made the special effort to come. What happy memories we all have of the visit.

3D shapes are lots of fun

We are learning all about 3D shapes like cylinders, cubes and cuboids. We made cylinders out of two circles and one rectangle. The cubes we decorated were made up of six square faces. Miss Roberts asked us to look at home for some of these shapes. We found lots of things and brought them into show the class. Take a look at what we found.

Our trip to Pataka museum

On Wednesday Year 2 went to Pataka museum. We had so much fun finding out about what people did in the olden days. We were really lucky to be able to have a go at washing with a wash board and mangle. Dressing up in olden day clothes. Writing with slate pencils on slate boards and playing eye ball marble bounce and cup and ball. It was great and we learned so much about time in the past.

What a busy time in room 6

In maths we have continued to find out about each other with lots of graph work. We have worked out our class eye colour,hair colour, favourite ice creams and birthdays. In room 6 we have 11 people with brown eyes!What a lot of brown eyes.
We have also had a busy time at the swimming pool. We are learning to kick and float on our front and back. Thank you to the instructors for helping us.

We have now got our science investigation area up. Bridie was a star and brought in some amazing insects to look at under the magnifying glasses. Dragon flies and cicadas. We have all had lots of fun looking at them close up. Thanks Bridie.

So far we have busy getting to know each other and learning all the new routines in Year 2. We are starting statistics and have been learning all about tallies and graphs. Bennet's Design

After making his cool car Bennett wrote an email to the artist Mike Rivamonte (in Miami) who creates characters from collected stuff. Bennett likes to collect items to just like him. He recommended Bennett take a look at the artist Eduard Martinet. His website is down the right hand side. Below is the letter Bennett wrote and the response Mike wrote. This is just great to see as we are writing letters in class!

My name is Bennett Parker and I just turned 7 this week. I live in Wellington, New Zealand. I like to collect stuff and then make things out of it. My dad heard an interview with you on Radio New Zealand and we looked you up on the internet. I love your robots and rocket ships!!!

Today I built two guys in a mobile. I have called them 'Knuckle-Neck and Fru-Fru". Knuckle-Neck is the driver and Fru-Fru is a rabbit kind of guy sitting next to him. The mobile is called 'Jet-Guts'. I thought you might like to see them....

Great job! Looks like your having fun as well. I am very impressed with your car. Looks like you have wonderful space to make your work too. It is very wise of you to document your work with photos I do that too. With the photos I can look back and remember my process. Did you draw the creature on your t-shirt? I like the idea that you use a wing nut for fru-fru's ears. Have you seen Eduard Martinet's work? He is my favorite sculptor who lives in France.

Playground Designs

For Inquiry we have been very busy researchers and designers. We have been following a process of researching lots of different equipment of different playgrounds including both our school playgrounds and the park playground. We discussed our findings and shared what we liked about certain playgrounds and how we move on them. Then we became really creative and designed our own playground equipment. Once we did our drawing we had a go at making a model of it too. Check out these cool ideas!

Wonderful Weight!

Room 6 have started Term 4 thinking about weight and capacity. How much things weigh and how much things can hold? We had a fun time on Thursday and Friday measuring with balancing scales, cubes and measuring cups. Daan was very clever and experimented and made his own balancing scales at home. What a clever idea Daan! Maybe you could spend time at home measuring things and have a go at some cooking. We also still need some playdough for some fun enrichment activities so it would be great if some students could make some wonderful colours of playdough for us! We are all very proud of Renée as she has been an amazing Jump Jam leader this week. Terrific job!

Wacky Hair Day

Have a look at our wonderful and wacky hairdos! We had Wacky Hair Day on the last Friday of term 3 and we raised money for a special needs school in Christchurch that suffered a lot of damage and unfortunately some theft after the recent earthquake. We also managed to raise over $1000 which ensured Mr Chadwick chopped off his dreadlocks!! He looks so different!

Measurement Bugs!

In Mathematics we made 10cm bugs. We measured using a ruler and they had to be less than 10cm long or wide. We used foam shapes that you could stick on in different colours and little toothpicks, spot stickers and feathers. They were lots of fun to make and measure!

Brilliant Royal New Zealand Ballet!

We were so lucky to have some of the dancers from the Royal NZ Ballet. They came and showed us how they warm up on the barre and some floor work and how they did certain holds and lifts. They looked amazing. Then we were super lucky to see two dances from the show the Nutcracker that we are going to see later on next term. We saw the flowers dancing and the men on crutches. We then saw them perform a contemporary dance which is a bit different with the clothes they wear, how they have their hair, they usually don't wear shoes and the movements are a bit different than classical dance. Lastly we saw another modern dance that was on the news recently to a modern song. The costumes looked wonderful!

Duathlon

On Monday we had the Junior Duathlon. It was great fun to run and cycle around the school against our classmates. First we ran round the block outside of school, past the Fire Station and back through the school gates. Mr Bird and Mr Skilton helped us to get on our bikes or scooters and then we raced around the muddy field. It was hard work and tiring but we finally made it to the finish line. Healthy Harold

Room 6 visited the Life Education Trust Classroom and we met Harold and Tam and Jo on Wednesday and Thursday this week. We learnt all about food and our bodies. We made a food pyramid. We used the high energy foods first at the bottom. They were like fruit and vegetables and pasta. Then we did the next layer which was dairy products and meat. Then last we put the treats on. Those are some foods we should only have once in a while. We also learned where your food goes. It goes in your mouth, down the food tunnel to your stomach then to your intestines then to your blood. We learned sooooo much. We loved seeing Harold and when he sang to us.

Amazing Armour!

Well done Fergus! He made this amazing armour out of cardboard over the weekend. He made a sword, shield and helmet all using cardboard and then he painted it. It looks great! Very creative Fergus!

Who is This?

Someone was very creative in our class and got working with their hands and some paints, scissors, string and a cardboard box. This isn't just a box anymore! This is a fabulous robot complete with coded buttons for different weapons and armour. Just shows what a little imagination and a box can lead to! Can you guess who it is? We would love to see any creations you are inspired to make over the weekend!

Sensational Soccer!

Muritai was very lucky to have the Little Dribblers Soccer trainers come and hold a soccer tournament. Room 6 was put into four teams - they were our table groups and we got to play against each other and other junior rooms. It was so much fun! We loved it and the Kowhai table group WON!!!! Tricky Timestables

1. Write it down really large in red crayon on newspaper.
2. Say it aloud.
3. Trace your finger over it and say it aloud.
4. Cover it up and go to the window.
5. Say it aloud.
6. Go back to your paper.
7. Write it down.
8. Check it.
9. If you are right go to the next one.
10. If you are wrong go back to step 1.

Lea's Adventures!

Term 3

Well we have had a great start back to the term. We have chosen new buddies from Room 12 for our Spelling and Basic Facts testing which we usually do on Wednesdays. We have started a new topic for Science which is all about the changes in food. We have discussed some great and interesting ideas about what changes happen to foods we eat and what we would like to maybe find out about those changes. We also talked a bit about our lunches and dinner foods and how these foods are changed by mixing, chopping, crushing and cooking. It would be great if parents could help discuss these things whilst preparing meals at home and even let the children join in!

Cross Country

On Tuesday we decided to make the most of the weather and have our Junior Cross Country. We have been practicing so hard for it and it really paid off. We remembered to pace ourselves and sprint for the final part - even overtaking our friends. We had heaps of fun and ran really well. We are all very proud of ourselves. Patrick came first and Theo came second out of all the Year 2 boys while Ruby came first and Leah came third out of all the Year 2 girls. Well done!!!
Fergus read a book all about making a caterpillar. He went home and made one of his very own and it looks terrific. Over the week we have been watching it grow very quickly! Fergus also did some great writing all about his caterpillar. Well done Fergus.

Alien Mathematics

Today we did a fun activity using our basic facts. We had to make up basic fact equations up to ten to create an alien. Then our buddy had to draw our alien solving the equations to create the alien with however many heads, bodies, eyes, legs, ears etc. It was heaps of fun and they look great! We really did do some quality work!
Also in maths we have been learning about fractions. We got to make our own pizzas using the fractions quarters, halves, fifths, tenths and eighths. It was loads of fun and they look yummy! Take a look!

Our Big Blue Sofa

We were very lucky to have Wainuiomata Pukeatua School's Kapahaka group come and perform for us on Friday. They were amazing and very loud. They sang beautifully and did a very powerful haka for us. Room 6 read the story Our Big Blue Sofa by Tim Hopgood last thing on Friday afternoon after the performance. We came up with some really clever ideas of what exciting things our couches at home could be using our imagination and our Green and Blue thinkings hats. We came up with all sorts of ideas like spaceships, submarines, hot air balloons, swimming pool, bathtub, bus and lots more. Perhaps if it's a rainy weekend they could keep themselves busy on the couch imagining adventures!

Magnificent Mathematics!

Miss Roberts has been teaching us some cool mathematic concepts. We have been learning Measurement and Geometry. We have looked at time and working with clocks and telling the time for o'clock and half past. We have also made delicious geometric 3D shapes using marshmallows! Maths is so much fun with Miss Roberts! We also made some geometric pictures using foam 2d shapes. Take a look!

Jungle Bungle

We watched a fun performance on Friday called Jungle Bungle. Two clever actors danced, acted and sang their way through a fun performance for us. We got to sing along with them, offer suggestions and some lucky children like Bennett even got to get up with them and play some musical instruments on a safari! It was lots of fun and was all about two children and how people's differences can be a great thing. Mrs Hooke had read us two of the stories from the Children's Picture Book Finalists that were used in the play as well, which was great as we knew all about them. She also taught us some of the songs last week so we could sing along during the performance. It was so much fun! What a great way to end the week!

Heart Jam

The Junior Syndicate did Heart Jam today for a whole half an hour with lots of other children all around New Zealand. It was so much fun and we all got nice and warm - we needed that with the chilly weather! We put lots of gold coin donations inside the heart shape in the office and it looked great!

Just a reminder about all the great maths and spelling games opposite. The children have played some of the games already in class but they are fun and easy if they haven't.

Spelling Ideas!

Here are some ways you can help your child study their spelling words! If they choose one a night they will be ready for Wednesday’s spelling test!

Type ‘Em - Type all of your spelling words on the computer you can even email them to me!

Fancy Letters - Use old magazines, or newspapers to cut out letters and glue them down to spell your words!

Spelling Baseball - Draw four bases on a piece of paper or set up four chairs to be the bases. Pitcher selects a word. If batter can spell it correctly, he moves forward one base. If batter cannot spell word, he remains where he is. Child receives point every time he passes home base.

Spelling Bingo

Snowman or Scarecrow (Hangman) - Draw a snowman with a hat and three buttons. Play like hangman (don't forget to draw the lines to show how many letters the chosen word has), but show a part of the snowman for each guess. The object is to guess the word before the snowman melts.

Water Wash - (Warm day required!) Use a paintbrush and water to write your words on the sidewalk!

Trace Around - Print one of your spelling words neatly. Take a colored pen and draw an outline around the word, closely following the shapes of the letters. Close your eyes and remember the shape. Now try to write the word.

ABC Order - Write your words in alphabetical order. Then write them in reverse alphabetical order.

Riddle Me - Write a riddle for each word.

Connect the Dots - Make a square of 4 rows of dots with 4 dots in each row. Before taking a turn, the player must spell a spelling word. If the word is correct, he connects two dots. When a player forms a square, he can write his initials in the box. Player with most squares at the end wins.

Story, Story - Write a story using ALL of your spelling words.

Sentence Please - Write a sentence for each spelling word.

Colourful Words - Use two different colour pens to write your spelling words. Use one colour to write the consonants and the other for the vowels. Do this one more time. Close your eyes and picture the word in your mind. Now try and write the word with just one colour.

Word search - Make a word search puzzle. Do it online here!

Memory Game - Make pairs of word cards. Flip them over and try to match the pairs!

Finger Tracing - Use your finger to spell out each of your words one letter at a time on your Mom or Dad’s back. Then it’s YOUR turn to feel and spell.

Practice Test - Take a practice test (this is especially good on Thursday night before the REAL test!)

Scrabble - Use Scrabble tiles to spell your words.

Sings Them Loud, Sing Them Soft - Have your Mom or Dad sing the letters of a spelling word to you in a loud voice. You echo the spelling and then sing it again softly. Now BOTH of you sing the word in the voice you choose!

Alliterations - Do any of your spelling words begin with the same sound? Even if they don't, you can write alliterations for them!

Stair steps - Write words as if they are stairs, adding one letter each time

Rainbow Words - Write a spelling word with your pencil. Now trace around the outside with a crayon, hugging the same but not touching the letters. Pick two other crayons to continue tracing outward!

What Can You Do In a Minute?

Miss Roberts has been timing us do lots of different things in a minute. It has been fun learning how long a minute really is and how many things you can do quickly in that time. We tried writing our names, threading beads and stacking cubes. Next week we are going to try and do some more things like jumping and skipping. 40 Hour Famine

At this week's assembly Mrs Chao and Mrs Drinkwater talked about the 40 Hour Famine. This is a great cause. Only Year 3 upwards are able to do it but it would be good to give lots of support to any of our buddies in Room 12 or in the rest of the school who may do it. Zealandia!

On Wednesday 28 April Rooms 5 and 6 went to Zealandia in Karori. We saw Geckos, Tuis, Wood Pigeons, ducks, spiders and Shags. We went for a long walk around the bush and listened to lots of different bird songs with Tracy. She taught us so much about all the work they do there and how hard they try and keep out all those pesky animals that endanger all our native birds, plants and animals. We got to go inside the new building and watch a scary movie all about the changes that have happened to New Zealand's plants, land and animals. We even got to see a moa and moa bone and touch a baby kiwi that had died. It was so soft. We learned sooooo much!

Secret Spy in Room 6!

One of Miss Robert's reading groups read the book Spy Manual. Lea was very creative and decided to make her very own spy kit at home. She put a torch, sunglasses, pen and notebook, string, magnifying glass and sellotape into a box and painted the box black. Have a look at her wearing some of the secret spy things from her kit! What a creative thing to do Lea! Lea's not sure about whether she wants to be spy when she grows up.

Shapes Shapes Shapes Everywhere!

Miss Roberts has been teaching us all about 3D shapes. We are learning about cylinders, cubes, cones, spheres, cuboids and pyramids. Have a search around your home like Georgia did below. Take some photos, bring in or draw some pictures of the things you can find around home that are these shapes. HAPPY HUNTING!

Mrs Ryan has been busy this year working as a scientist. Take a look at her blog which is linked opposite. We are looking forward to her returning in Term 3. She will be full of great ideas!

Shannyn was our Busy Buzzy Bee this week. "I liked sitting on the chair and being a leader to go to Jump Jam because I like going at the front," Shannyn said.

Visit to the Fire Station

On Friday 19 March the Junior Syndicate visited the Fire Station. We were so excited and we learned lots about how fire fighters keep us safe and how we can keep ourselves safe. Fire fighters Mike, Sam, Matt, Teresa and Margo showed us inside the truck and even let us all have a go squirting water from the hose! We made the water go up high and way down the street!

Spelling

Room 6 children get tested on their Spelling words by their Buddies in Room 12 on a Wednesday. They must have their Spelling Rocket in their bookbag (preferably everyday in case we have to change days) so their Buddy can test them. If they don't bring their Spelling Rocket, their Buddy can not test them. If they get any words wrong in their test their Buddy will underline those words in pencil on their Spelling Rocket. Shapes Everywhere!

Miss Roberts has been teaching us all about 2D shapes and Georgia was very creative and took lots of photos around her home of lots of different shapes. She found rectangles, circles, squares and some things have two different shapes in the one photo! Take a look and see if you can say the shape and what the object is. You can have a shape hunt around your own home and see how many different shapes you can find.

Life Guard Visit

On Monday 15 March we were really lucky and had Chris and Jeremy from Eastbourne Pool to come and talk to us all about Pool Safety. They reminded us about the rules at the pool and what they do for their job as Life Guards. We then had a chance to ask them lots of really good questions about Life Saving and safety at the pool.

Busy Bee Daan

Daan's favourite thing about being the Busy Buzzy Bee this week was sitting on the chair. He got to do lots of jobs like changing the monitor peg, getting the Muritai Munchies and help hang the wonderful art work we have been doing. He also got to change the day of the week every day. Everybody will get a turn at being the Busy Buzzy Bee throughout the year.

Strike

Fergus was this week's Busy Buzzy Bee. My favourite thing was going to the pool for swimming because I like ducking under. We also has Strike come and perform to the whole school. They play drums really loud. They have HUGE drums and Fergus' favourite bit was when they had some cool fire and they smashed cans. Take a look at the pictures of them performing.

Road Safety

We had a visit from Constable Julie to talk about Road Safety. We are learning all about safety at school, in the playground, on the road and at the pool for our Inquiry. Well the week just rocketed by. We have started to set up our usual classroom programmes. Our classroom schedule will be Miss Roberts teaching us until 12pm and Miss Jones teaching us until 3pm.
