At last a butterfly!
Today Thursday one of our chrysalises burst open and out came a beautiful Monarch butterfly. We were all very excited and watched as throughout the morning it dried out its wings and got itself ready to fly off. First it spent time on the swan plant opening and closing its wings. Next it moved up to the top of the plant and opened its wings a little wider. Then Miss Roberts moved the plant so that it was next to the door. It flew a little bit into our room and landed on the carpet. It walked under our book corner and stayed there for the rest of the morning. Finally with a little help from Miss Roberts it flew off into our garden and we hope it found a nice bright flower to land on. We still have two more chrysalises to watch.
