Static electricity is pretty fun to experiment with and we spent some time investigating, discovering and laughing our way through some activities that helped to show us static electricity in action.
Because it was wacky hair day we thought we would take the opportunity to make our hair stand on end - amazing!
We charged up some balloons by rubbing them against our hair and were able to then use the balloon to attract some small light objects like glitter and feathers.
We also rubbed part of a small plastic shopping bag on our hair which made it stick to our hand and a lot of other things too.
We also discovered that when we ran a comb through our hair we were able to use the comb to attract little bits of tissue paper.
Ella discovered that her hair was very attracted to the balloons once they had been charged up. Lucky it was wacky hair day!
