Parts of a butterfly
Room 6 has been very fortunate to have seen a few butterflies emerge from a chrysalis. This week we also got to see someone from our class turn into a butterfly to help show us the different parts that a butterfly has. Luke put on some wings, a couple of extra legs, some antennae, and a proboscis. We thought the proboscis was really interesting as it acts like a straw for the butterfly to be able to suck nectar out of a flower. Great job Luke what a wonderful butterfly you were. Keep a watch out in your garden for monarch butterflies and see if you can name all the parts.
