Beach clean up

On Tuesday this week Oliver from Sustainable Coastlines came to speak to us about taking care of our world. He showed us lots of photos of the effects of rubbish on the marine life. After this the whole school took turns going down to the beach to help clean up our coast line.
Looking closely for small plastic pieces

Storm water - we found rubbish here

Some of the rubbish we found

Lots of searching

Together we managed to pick up over 300 litres of rubbish! We need to make sure we try to use less plastic and always pick up and remove rubbish when we are out and about.

Good project for your class, when I visited Wellington I thought it was very clean. It's a project all schools should take on. In England we have a big problem with litter, at a glance it is far worse over here than with you Great to see the children taking part, well done. Granny Sue from England
