Science week

During science week Room 6 took part in several different science investigations. 
There was the mystery of the flying cup. When a cup of water is upside down the water will fall out. Won't it?

We explored gravity by spinning a paper cup of water upside down. The two forces balance each other out, and the water stays in the cup.  

Zooming balloon rocket.

When you let go of the balloon the air inside come shooting out, because it's being squeezed hard by the stretchy balloon. It showed us that the balloon pushes out the air- so the air pushes the balloon, making it zoom. Whenever there is a force pushing there is also an equal force pushing in the opposite direction.
