Starry night painting

As part of our inquiry into painting we have been studying the painting Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. We looked closely at the painting and drew an outline of the picture. We started by painting the stars and moon using thick paint and a dabbing brush stroke. We learnt how to make colours lighter by adding white and darker by adding black.

Mixing black to make the colours darker. Look at the swirly strokes for the clouds in the sky.

Take a look at all the fantastic paintings we have done. Come in to Room 6 and marvel at the talented ladybird artist we have in our class.
