Discovering mass and weight

We wanted to know if something is big does that always mean it is heavier and if something is small does that always mean it is lighter?

We looked at a large ball and a shot put. We know the ball is bigger than the shot put but does that mean it is heavier?

We held the shot put in one hand and the large ball in the other to act like scales. We could feel the shot put was very heavy compared to the large ball. The shot put has more mass than the large ball and so even though it was smaller than the large ball it weighed more.

Next we found things that were heavy and light we used the Pic collage app to display our findings.

Next we  used the weighing scales to find out how many cubes (non-standard units) each item weighed. We all worked together to check our findings.
