Beach trip

As part of our inquiry into Wellington harbour Room 6 made a visit down to the beach to explore the area. We located places of interest like the entrance to Wellington harbour, Wellington city, Makaro/Ward and Matiu/Somes islands. We took a closer look at what can be found at the beach. We found lots of natural objects like shells, driftwood, seaweed but we also found lots of man made objects which didn't belong at the beach.  We found bottles, food wrappers and fishing line. Have a look at some of the interesting things we found at the beach. 

Later when we returned to class we sorted the natural objects from the man made ones which you can check out on our display in the cloakroom.
