Investigating plants

This term we will be investigating how and what plants need to grow.

Our first investigation was do plants need water?
We think plants do need water and to prove our thinking we have an experiment going on on our classroom.
We have 3 white flowers, one is in a cup with no water, one is in a cup with water and one is in a cup with red food colouring.

After about half an hour we started to see some changes in the flower that is in food colouring. The flower had started to go pink.

Later in the day the flower in food colouring had changed to red?

What do you think happened?
What did you learn from this?
We are going to keep an eye on the flowers over the next week and see what other changes we notice.

George and Peira tried doing this experiment but their flower changed into two different colours.

How do you think this happened?
