Room 6 was fortunate to have Sally Bain come and share her knowledge about the little blue penguin with us. She talked to us about the life cycle of the little blue penguin as well as sharing some of the problems little blue penguins face in nesting around the Eastbourne coast line. Sally shared that the little blue penguin nests in the same place as past generations have done, so we are incredibly lucky to live in the same environment where little blue penguins have called home for so long.
We took a walk down to the beach to see nesting sites (although it was not the right time of year to see any penguins nesting), and saw the type of environment that best suited the penguins. The rocks behind Sally are one location in Eastbourne that the penguins can easily access from the sea and make their nests amongst the rocks.
