ANZAC Day

As part of our ANZAC celebrations we wanted to spend some time remembering the soliders that went to war.  We made a cross which represented one of the New Zealand soliders who died in battle. Room 6 went out with our buddy class to place the cross on the school field with other crosses from each of the classes. We had also made a beautiful poppy wreath which Emily laid on the cross for us.

Later in the day the whole school spent some time out by the Memorial gate in a very moving ceremony. We sang the National Anthem, listened to a poem and stood silently as we thought about the soliders that did so much for us.

ANZAC day is a difficult time to think about but a very important one for us to remember so we were very pleased we had the opportunity to do this at school together.
